|University of Huddersfield|
The University of Huddersfield is a higher education provider of world class research and teaching, with a policy of generating high-level research to inform teaching and contribute to industry and society at large. The personnel associated with this project work as part of the Centre for Precision Technologies (CPT), is a research centre within the School of computing and Engineering. The CPT has a long history of both public and industrially funded research that has led to practical commercial solutions in all areas of machine tool performance and industrial metrology.
The CPT has a team of more than twenty researchers with the very latest equipment and facilities, which are needed in order to carry out successfully the demanding challenges of this strategic project. The centre pioneered and promoted the use of volumetric and thermal assessment and correction of machine tools and continues to advance this activity by collaboration with high profile, academic and industrial UK & EU partners.
The CPT has recently been awarded the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Advanced Metrology. EPSRC is the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences.
